1. The Road: Tragedy of One

Release Date: August 4

This series tells the story of the secrets, desires, guilts, and salvation of the residents who live at “Royal the Hill,” a place where only the top 1 percenters of Korea live. Baek Soo Hyun (Ji Jin Hee) is a popular and respected anchorman with strong beliefs. When he states something on camera, viewers trust that it’s the truth. However, Soo Hyun is actually very cold-hearted, and when he wants something, he gets it. He is married with children to Seo Eun Soo (Yoon Se Ah), who is devoted to protecting her family. Eun Soo is the daughter of the chairman of the Jegang Group (Seo Ki Tae), who holds great influence in economics and politics. Cha Seo Young (Kim Hye Eun) is an announcer for a broadcast station who has everything she could want but is always dissatisfied. 

2. Police University

Release Date: August 9

This K-Drama tells the story of a detective who catches criminals with everything he’s got and a former hacker who can solve anything that investigate a case together. Yoo Dong Man (Cha Tae Hyun) is a professor who has 20 years of experience as a violent crimes detective and a member of the cyber investigation team. Kang Sun Ho (Jung Jin Young) is a hacker who eventually becomes a first-year student at the Police University. Oh Kang Hee (Krystal), a first-year student, holds no secrets or grudges and is righteous to the core.

3. Second Husband

Release Date: August 9

Bong Seon Hwa (Uhm Hyun Kyung) had an unfortunate childhood but soon rises in the world. Due to growing up in the same neighborhood, she is in a long-term relationship with Moon Sang Hyuk (Han Ki Woong). However, when she loses her family due to a tragedy born out of unstoppable desire, she promises revenge.

4. Check Out the Event

This is the emotional journey that will unfold when two former lovers pretend to be together to go on a couple’s trip they won at an event. Park Do Kyum (Kwon Hwa Woon) is the leader and vocalist of an indie band. While he seems vain and arrogant, he has a romantic side. Ha Song Yi (Bang Min Ah) is a confident woman who works as a botanical garden coordinator. She finds herself struggling after breaking up with her boyfriend. Seo Ji Gang (Ahn Woo Yeon) is an essay writer who chooses to be a travel guide for couples in order to observe them for his writing. As he gradually develops feelings for Ha Song Yi, the three characters will portray an unpredictable love triangle.

5. Lovers of the Red Sky

Hong Chun Gi (Kim Yoo Jung) has amazing artistic skills and is chosen as the first female painter of the Dohwaseo (Korean Royal Academy of Painting). One day, she meets Ha Ram (Ahn Hyo Seop), who is an officer at the Seowoongwan, an office in charge of astronomy, geography, the art of divination, and meteorology. When he was young, an accident caused him to become blind, but Hong Chun Gi still falls in love with him.

6. Flying Butterflies

Release Date: August (rumored for 23)

Gi Bbeum (Kim Hyang Gi) is an assistant intern in her early 20s who works at the hair salon named Fly High, Butterfly. She works with three other assistant interns: Moo Yeol (Park Jung Woo), Teacher Woo (Moon Tae Yoo), and Soo Ri (Kim Ga Hee). Kwang Soo (Choi Daniel) is an enthusiastic hairstylist at the same salon who works with Michelle (Oh Yoon Ah) and Jen (Shim Eun Woo). This story will show how they deal with customers and work hard no matter the conditions.

7. Hometown ChaChaCha

Release Date: August 28

Yoon Hye Jin’s (Shin Min Ah‘s) life plans fall apart due to the tiny bit of righteousness in her heart. After various obstacles, she moves to the seashore village, Gongjin, and meets Mr. Hong (Kim Seon Ho). Hong Doo Shik is officially unemployed, but he helps everyone in Gongjin with any situation they run into.

8. I’m Watching You

Release Date: Unconfirmed date in August

This show is described as a “crime factual” K-Drama in which the crime details will be shown with a more realistic approach. It will be in CCTV format and will depict the way society sees a crime rather than the victims.
