With the incredibly high beauty standards that are so often pushed onto K-Pop idols, it wouldn’t come as a surprise that some of them might use padding and other enhancements to better fit the image that’s expected of them. For example, ITZY‘s Yuna has been accused of using hip pads on numerous occasions, though others have come to her defense and used evidence to try to prove otherwise.

And it’s not just female idols that have such high beauty standards — male idols are expected to look a certain way too, both in their facial features as well as their body type.

Recently, some photos have been circulating online that have netizens speculating that chest padding might be starting to be used on male K-Pop idols to make them look more muscular.

NCT‘s Taeyong has long been praised for his uniquely handsome visuals. He’s extremely lean too, giving him a thin but well-defined build that appeals to a lot of fans.

Even though he might not be the most muscular K-Pop idol out there, that doesn’t detract from how gorgeous he is!

The photo that has led to speculation that Taeyong might have been wearing chest padding is the one seen below, where his chest does appear a bit bulkier than usual.

On a public forum, netizens shared images of what men’s chest padding looks like to compare to the picture of Taeyong, to use as evidence that he’s wearing such “enhancements”.

Some think that the shape of Taeyong’s chest looks exactly like the example of padding shown.

Several commenters on the post agree that it seems like Taeyong is using padding in this scenario.

Others, however, think that it could just be the angle and lighting that is giving him the illusion of looking more muscular than usual.
