BTS Promised 18-Year-Old Jungkook These Presents, And Honestly, Some Things Never Change

In honor of BTS‘s Jungkook‘s 24th birthday today, let’s take a look back at the first-ever VLIVE birthday party the members held for their youngest member!

In a livestream titled “JUNG KOOK’S BIRTHDAY!” from back in 2015, Jimin and Suga surprised Jungkook with a birthday cake. To this day, the members will often burst into the room to give Jungkook a cake; this tradition totally lives on!

They all started singing “Happy Birthday” at the top of their lungs, putting on a very dramatic show for the birthday boy.

J-Hope set off a mini confetti cannon, making Jungkook hide away from it since he was scared of the noise! V jokingly held one up to Jungkook’s face as if he was going to set it off, but ultimately didn’t. The two youngest members have always had a unique friendship!

The ever-affectionate Jimin said he knew exactly what Jungkook would want: he sat in his lap and asked for a kiss on the cheek! Eventually, all the members started yelling out presents they’d give to Jungkook.

Jin said he’d give him ice cream — and then handed Jungkook his phone which had a case with an ice cream design on it!

J-Hope said he had the perfect gift: a pair of Timberlands! Any fan of BTS would know that Jungkook had a serious love for those iconic boots back in the day, so it really would have been the perfect present. These days, however, Jungkook is more into black designer boots!

V asked Jimin what he’d get Jungkook, and even though Jimin said a kiss, V yelled out, “He will give Jimin 50 shirts!”

Producer genius Suga said he’d give Jungkook a song! While Suga has produced countless songs for the group since then, we’ll be waiting patiently for that “JUNGKOOK (prod. SUGA)” in the future.

RM said “I’ll shave all of JK’s hair off,” and everyone freaked out! J-Hope added onto the chaos but pointing out that RM actually bought hair clippers recently: “Oh wait, he actually bought hair clippers!!!”

Jin just might be psychic because he said he would give Jungkook muscles! Jungkook has been working out a bunch since then and he’s totally bulked up. Jin was onto something there!

They even joked about buying Jungkook “golden spoons” — 24-carat pure gold, of course. Nothing less for the “Golden Maknae!”

Last but not least, V said he’d give Jungkook a game! It was hilariously silent for a second before Suga started cheering, prompting the rest of the guys to scream out in excitement.

To this day, Jungkook’s hyungs love making a big deal out of their youngest’s birthday. It’s so heartwarming to see that while the group has grown up to become huge stars, some things just never change!
