BTS’s “Director Of Fun” V Reveals The Reason Why He Chose To Do A Spontaneous Weverse Giveaway Event

Recently, BTS‘s V gained a new nickname of “Director of Fun” after he enforced changes to Weverse, followed by a spontaneous giveaway event for ARMYs.
First, he requested Weverse add some more features that would enhance ARMYs’ experience on the app even more. These include additional notifications and more customizable features (spoiler alert: he got his wish).

He also spontaneously announced a giveaway event, much to the surprise of Weverse staff. He promised ARMYs signed albums!
Ah can we give a signed CD or something to whoever gets picked as the winner
? Weverse will take care of it so we can just have fun like we usually do and Weverse will be responsible for giving out the things we sign

But, V’s wish is the staff’s command. So, Weverse then officially issued their own statement, confirming the giveaway.
Now, in a new interview with Weverse Magazine, V has revealed what exactly was going through his head when he decided to hold such an “impromptu event.” First, he explained that it’s been hard for BTS and ARMY to be apart for so long due to the pandemic. Since there are no longer concerts, he feared that perhaps they weren’t doing enough, so he tries to interact with ARMYs a lot on Weverse.
I’m sure there’s lots of ARMY out there who are tired of not being able to see us in person. But since the only thing we can do for them is to be on stage and stuff, I was worried that we’re not doing enough for them. And I love being able to talk with ARMY so much that now it’s like a habit that I read their posts. I have a thing today. I have a test today. I’m moving today. Somehow I feel better when I hear their stories. When I end up reading things like about how ARMY are living or what kind of lives ARMY have, I can’t help but write a response, and because of that ARMY respond, so I try to become friendlier in a more fun way, too.

He described his relationship with ARMY as being like close friends. So, of course, he acts with his friends’ best interest at heart. For him, that means heavy communication and holding events like the giveaway on Weverse.
It’s been a long time since I could see my friend, ARMY. Usually when friends can’t see each other they keep in touch all the time. I can talk about all kinds of things like that with ARMY thanks to the Weverse platform, and because I can hear all about their lives, I think I was able to go on Weverse and hold that kind of event.
