The Gaon Album Chart is a weekly, monthly, and yearly national chart in South Korea that calculates the best-selling albums in the country based on data provided by the Korea Music Content Industry Association. Now that January is over, they’ve just posted their list of the best-selling albums from the month!
Many of the albums that made it onto the chart are, understandably, ones that were released in January, since albums tend to sell the most copies close to their release date, but several on the list were released a month or two ago! Here are the top 17 best-selling Korean music albums in January.
17. And Then There Was Us by Hoppipolla
Released on January 20, 2021, And Then There Was Us is Hoppipolla’s second mini-album with the title song “Your Ocean”, and sold 5,008 copies in January!
16. tellusboutyourself by Yerin Baek
Released on December 10, 2020, tellusboutyourself is Yerin Baek’s second full-length studio album, and sold 6,807 copies in January! With the title songs “Hate You” and “0415”, it has sold 8,490 units overall since its release.
