Netizens Criticize LE SSERAFIM’s Latest Video For Featuring Multiple Starbucks Products — Focusing On The “Editing”

Netizens have called out HYBE after the appearance of Starbucks cups in LE SSERAFIM‘s recent video.
The members of LE SSERAFIM | @le_sserafim/TwitterGlobal protests and boycotts continue to be organized against companies that have ties with or have supported Israel during the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis. The most recent estimates of lives lost in the Gaza Strip in Palestine during the ongoing Israel-Palestine crisis since October have exceeded 25,000 people.
Movements such as the Palestinian-led BDS (Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions) movement have advocated for targeted consumer boycotts in an effort to “stop selling products from companies profiting from Israel’s crimes.” Starbucks was added to the list of brands and companies to boycott after suing workers for using the company’s union to share their solidarity with Palestine.
Many people do not understand but Boycott has caused Starbucks alone to lose $12 Billion and many of the Starbucks are being closed due to that.

In LE SSERAFIM’s recent video, netizens noticed that while the members were in the dressing room, multiple Starbucks cups could be seen.
While many deemed it bad enough considering the boycott going on, netizens found it worse as products around the cup were blurred or turned around to avoid advertisements, except the Starbucks cups. In particular, some thought they looked as if they were being intentionally advertised.
When the post was shared online, it instantly gained a lot of attention from netizens.

Considering the backlash HYBE (along with other big K-Pop companies have had), it wasn’t surprising that the reaction was very negative.
In particular, netizens hit back at the company for blurring everything in the shot, including local brands and orange, but blatantly not doing it for the Starbucks cup. With K-Pop idols always being so wary about “product placement,” netizens thought it seemed impossible to be an “accident”.
