“I Was Drunk And Don’t Remember” — Former Boy Group Member Denies Rape But Admits To Harassment Of Fellow Group Member

A former boy group member, “A,” was previously indicted on charges of sexual harassment of same-sex members in his idol group. During the first trial, he was charged with 2 years and 6 months of prison time, as well as 3 years of suspension, and 30 hours of sexual assault education.

On August 7, 2023, it was announced that during his second trial, his sentence was raised slightly. Although the prison time and suspension remains the same, he will now have to undergo 80 hours of sexual violence education instead. The reason was as there did not seem to be any situational change in the case after progression to the second trial.

During the first trial, the court agreed that although the victim felt sexual and mental pain, “A” showed remorse and reflected on his actions, agreeing with the victim.

Later on, he admitted to the charges of forced harassment, but denied the charges of rape, claiming that “he does not remember as he was drunk.”

The forced molestation occured several times between 2017 to 2021, occurring in the group’s accommodations and practice rooms. “A” later left the group.
