Popular comedian Park Na Rae is going viral in South Korea for donning bikinis during her recent TV appearances.

In a recent preview of an upcoming episode of the famous variety show I Live Alone, Park was shown going to the beach to enjoy a refreshing swim in the sweltering heat. After setting up her spot on the beach, she took off her long dress to reveal a beautiful red bikini. It came as a shocker to many viewers, given that Park does not have the “ideal” body type expected of women in the Korean entertainment industry.

Despite the hot outfit, the comedian managed to secure some truly hilarious moments on camera as she struggled against the swaying waves.

In another variety show, Walking Into A Frenzy, the comedian was recently seen sporting a cute bikini as she enjoyed herself playing in the water. The episode specifically pointed out her “belly fat,” adding a written commentary that it served as a “tube.”

As harsh as the comment might seem, it is not a surprising phenomenon in the entertainment industry. There is a heavy emphasis on maintaining a certain body type for actors and idols, and anybody who falters is often accused of being “unprofessional.” South Korea, in general, is known for its strict beauty standards, and it is said that comments about weight are commonplace in the culture. So, it is highly possible that Park herself didn’t even think much about the show poking fun at her body.

Korean netizens, however, have taken an issue with the incident and showed their genuine appreciation for Park.
