BTS’s Jungkook Spills On His True Feelings About Not Winning A GRAMMY Award

Since debuting in 2013, BTS‘s popularity has soared globally, and the group has been gaining attention from some of the biggest events and celebrities worldwide. In particular, their global dominance was marked when the group was invited to their first GRAMMYs in 2019.
After that, the group has gone on to attend several of the events, being nominated, performing, hosting, and stealing the show… but have yet to actually win an award.
Recently, BTS’s youngest member Jungkook sat down for an interview with Weverse. Alongside chatting about his English skills, the other members, and his direction of music, the idol spoke honestly about the group’s experiences with the GRAMMY Awards.
During the interview, Jungkook explained that his PROOF (referring to the group’s latest album) comes from the members.
A really big influence. Just seeing the others put out their mixtapes makes me think, When should I make one? There must be something I have that I can prove.

The next question from the interview explained that his PROOF (motivation) must come from the rest of the group, more than winning any award, like a GRAMMY. Jungkook agreed, adding that their status and popularity were there, even if they didn’t win.
I think our status is there whether we win a Grammy or not. That was just, I don’t know — a good experience?

Yet, the next part of his answer truly showcased the idol’s maturity and true personality. Rather than be angry or upset about it, Jungkook had a much calmer approach to the fact that the group had yet to win the award, despite their rising popularity.
It made me realize that, while I knew that winning the Grammy Award is a huge deal, I wasn’t really interested in actually winning one.

Jungkook then shared that, for him, there were more important ways to prove themselves as artists, which would mean more to them. However, he didn’t discredit the event and shared that it was a unique experience.
I’m more interested in proving myself through my music. And it was great seeing performances from people I never saw live before.

When the article was shared, ARMYs couldn’t stop praising the idol for his response to the question, with many describing it as “Hot” It not only showcased Jungkook’s dedication to BTS’s music but also that it didn’t impact him.
Yet, it isn’t the first time the group has been praised for their reaction to not winning a GRAMMY. After the 2022 event, the members sat down for a live broadcast and discussed what had happened. Although they were disappointed, the members shared similar views and showcased their strengths.
Jimin: Thanks to ARMYs, we’ve been able to try this again. It’s too bad we didn’t win, but simply having been here has been meaningful nonetheless.
Jungkook. This is all a great experience for us.
V: Yeah. Honestly, we got to watch so many amazing performances. So this has been extremely motivating for us.

Despite being the youngest member of BTS, Jungkook continues to prove his maturity when it comes to the life of being an idol. Whether it’s about award shows or the group’s upcoming “hiatus” to focus on solo activities, Jungkook always has the best outlook.
