Ever since her debut in 2016, BLACKPINK‘s Lisa has made a name for herself in the K-Pop industry.
The “Lovesick Girls” singer isn’t just a distinguished K-Pop rapper and dancer, she’s also an accomplished model who represents some of the biggest brands in the world! From fashion brands like BVLGARI and Celine to makeup brands like MAC, Lisa is sought after by many.
But before Lisa was a celebrity, she was an impressionable child who had a completely different dream. In an interview with American magazine Rolling Stone, she revealed that she originally wanted to become a stewardess.
It all started when she went on a trip to Singapore with her mom and dad, and she was instantly drawn to the beautiful uniforms being worn by the flight attendants.
A stewardess! I once went to Singapore with my family. I saw the beautiful flight attendants on Singapore Airlines, wearing this uniform—a really long dress with sleeves down to the elbow, maybe purple fabric, with patterns.

Until this day, she still recalls the simple conversation she had with one of them. She was asked if she wanted milk, and she eagerly said yes.

Afterwards, young Lisa begged her mom to buy the uniform, and her mom kindly obliged! Unfortunately, her dream couldn’t come to fruition because she didn’t meet one requirement—she wasn’t tall enough. The requirement is necessary because flight attendants are expected to help passengers place their luggage in the overhead compartments.
So as soon as we landed in Singapore, I begged my mom to buy me their uniform, which she did. But sadly, I didn’t meet the height requirements—you have to be tall enough to reach the overhead luggage.
