BTS recently attended this year’s American Music Awards (AMAs), and as expected, they absolutely slayed the event from the beginning. Alongside picking up three awards, including becoming the first Asian group to pick up the most anticipated Artist of the Year award, they were true VIPs as celebrities lined up to meet them.
Even after all of the hecticness of the event, the members still took time out after the show to celebrate the momentous day with ARMYs worldwide. BTS sat down and chatted about everything that had happened at the event!

During the broadcast, the members spoke all about the event. In particular, they discussed the moment when Jin had to take the microphone off Jungkook because they were running out of time.

After being cut off, the members decided that it was time for Jungkook to finish his speech, and he chose to rewind slightly. Unfortunately, because it had been such a crazy day, Jungkook seemed to forget what he had said.
We just wanted to make people happy with our music. We believe that this award… Ah I can’t remember it right now.

RM then joked that the bit he couldn’t make it to was after Jungkook said, “focus on…” and ARMYs found it hilarious because the name of the broadcast was called “Focus on…”

Luckily, in the end, ARMYs finally got to hear what Jungkook wanted to say as he explained that he was meant to say, “Focus on… enjoying every moment.”

Although he finally got a chance to say what he wanted, Jungkook added that something about the atmosphere generally made him nervous when giving the speech. In particular, it couldn’t have been easy doing it in front of many people and in English, which isn’t his native language.
We usually do the acceptance speech when there is no one around. All of a sudden there is a bunch of people, and it’s noisy, and I was so out of it. My brain circuit completely stopped working.

With the atmosphere and adrenaline after hearing the announcement, it was no surprise that Jungkook felt nervous, which made him stop his speech to give the other members a chance to speak.
Yet, he wasn’t the only member whose speech caught the attention of fans worldwide. When accepting the Artist of the Year award, netizens couldn’t stop praising Suga, who chose to say his part in Korean, despite being at an American awards show.
