When it comes to living in different countries, there will always be huge differences between them, whether it is to do with the people, culture, or the surroundings.

One person who knows all about living in two places is BLACKPINK‘s Jennie. Despite being born and raised in Korea for most of her life, she spent five years as a child in New Zealand and really felt the differences!

Jennie recently sat down for an interview with W Korea, where she had a look at some cute keepsakes and was asked questions about working with Chanel, her childhood, and more.

During the video, Jennie was shown a snowglobe. Apart from expressing her love for the trinket, she was asked whether she had any snow-related memories from her childhood.

For many who live in New Zealand and Australia, it is known that the two countries hardly, if ever, have any snow. It didn’t seem any different from where Jennie stayed when she was studying.

When I studied in New Zealand, it didn’t snow in the city that I lived in. So, I went without snow for most of my childhood.

Yet, this lack of snow meant that it was a new and exciting experience every time she saw it snow when she returned to Korea.

But every time I came to Korea during the holidays, I used to get fascinated by snow, and I remember running around in excitement every time it snowed. I didn’t get to experience snow a lot when I was little.

For every young child, snow becomes a huge deal, whether taking a day off school or making snowmen and snow angels. It is no surprise that Jennie found it so beautiful and exciting when she returned to Korea.

However, it seems as if this fascination and love for snow didn’t end after she’d returned to Korea and became more familiar with it. In the same interview, Jennie also shared her love for skiing and the moment she tried it for the first time.

This was when I was very little. I think I was around 8 or 9 years old. I remember wearing a red ski suit and learning how to ski in Yongpyong.

She then explained that, although she loves riding sleighs and having snowball fights, she enjoys skiing the most when it comes to snow.

Even though Jennie is warm and caring, her love for the snow might just cement her “Ice Princess” nickname for a completely literal reason. You can watch the whole video below.
