When BTS and Coldplay announced that they would be collaborating together for the track “My Universe,” fans worldwide couldn’t contain their excitement. On the surface, it seemed like a very odd combination with two extremely different groups. However, they are joined together by their love of music.
Although it is known that some of the BTS members are huge fans of Coldplay, fans were not really sure how the collaboration came together. Coldplay’s lead singer Chris Martin recently revealed the real mastermind behind the two groups releasing “My Universe.”
Chris Martin recently appeared in an interview with Ryan Seacrest for the On Air With Ryan Seacrest show. Along with talking about a possible trip into space, they discussed the recent collaboration with BTS.

Ryan Seacrest pointed out that some artists might not want to expand and bring their music into K-Pop. Yet, although Chris has always had nothing but kind words for BTS, he was honest explaining that initially, he wasn’t sure how it was going to work.
It was here where fans finally learned who the mastermind was behind the collaboration.
The idea got suggested by somebody, by Jin, Worldwide Handsome Jin. I was like, ‘I don’t know how that will ever work. Then, of course, we love them, and one day the song just appeared. And then we thought, ‘Oh right, this is supposed to be for BTS, and now here we are.

Chris Martin then went to call the experience an amazing adventure, and ARMYs couldn’t get over the fact that Jin recommended that the two groups collaborate. Many also loved the fact that Chris referred to him as “Worldwide Handsome Jin!”

Yet, although it was the first time ARMYs learned about the fact that Jin was the person behind the collaboration, it isn’t surprising for many people. It is a known fact that Jin has been a fan of the British rock band for years. He even frequently includes their songs in his playlist on Spotify.
When BTS eventually met Coldplay, Jin was excited about meeting his idol that he not only wore all of the gifts that the group gave them immediately. In particular, he was gifted a guitar by the group, and his reaction might have just been the cutest thing in the world.
