NCT‘s Mark is part of many groups, from NCT 127 to NCT DREAM to NCT U to SuperM — so many, in fact, that he’s referred to as a pro-debuter! But there’s one group that you might not expect people to associate with Mark: BLACKPINK!
This tweet recently blew up on Twitter from an account honoring the “cutest K-Pop idols.” They listed all of Mark’s different groups — but also added BLACKPINK!

They stated in a reply that the person requested that they add in BLACKPINK, though the account owner wasn’t sure why.

It all comes back to BLACKPINK’s documentary, BLACKPINK: Light Up The Sky. The documentary came out in 2020 and details each of the members’ origin stories and their rise to fame.
In one scene of the documentary, members of SM Entertainment‘s pre-debut group SM Rookies made an appearance! As the narrator talked about the trainee life for idols, the documentary showed footage of Mark, Taeil, Hansol, and Ten rehearsing in a practice room.
Later that year, in a rehearsal video for NCT U’s “90s Love,” BLACKPINK’s collaboration with Selena Gomez, “Ice Cream,” could be heard playing in the background. Fans quickly deduced that Mark and Jeno were the ones listening to the song!
