SM Entertainment Reveals Their New Girl Group “aespa” Will Debut Next Month

SM Entertainment has confirmed the teaser for aespa that released earlier today will be for their new girl group, which will debut in November.

In a press release made to the media today, SM Entertainment has let the public know that aespa will begin their debut promotions soon, and revealed the logo and meaning of the group name. aespa takes the phrase “Avatar X Experience” and combines it into “æ” while the ending of the name comes from “aspect”. The name will symbolize meeting your other self with an avatar, and experience a new world.

aespa is also planning on introducing various contents that will reveal the members, their own universe, and many more contents to tease their debut. When the teaser was first released, many fans were guessing just what it could be.

aespa will be SM Entertainment’s first new idol group in four years, since they debuted NCT. They will join an impressive lineup of artists, including BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, EXO, Red Velvet, and NCT.
