In a video, posted on TikTok, he dines with friends while the original version of “Savage Love” (that does not feature BTS) plays in the background. Jason Derulo tagged several of his friends in the video, but not his co-creators.

In response, ARMY accused the singer of snubbing BTS, taking credit for BTS’s success, and using the group “for clout“.

BTS will just ignore this, but ARMYS won't let this go. Yes, Jason Derulo, we're the worst fandom when you messed up with our boys. pic.twitter.com/NK91GlfjTB

Jason Derulo literally admitted to using BTS. I been knew he was fake the first time he asked for 10M likes on his TikTok with BTS. Hopefully y'all can see it now. #JasonDeruloIsOverParty #JasonDeruloIsCancelled

Savage Love was out almost five months ago but never charted #1 hot100 bb chart until BTS remix version came out. Let that sink in, Jason Derulo.

Jason Derulo has since tagged BTS and Jawsh 685 in a repost of his video on Twitter. The comment section is filled with replies from unhappy ARMYs, who say that he should be thanking them and BTS for making “Savage Love” No.1.
Wish @BTS_twt @jawsh_685 was here for the celebration! We did it! #1 on billboard chart! Savage Love pic.twitter.com/w6x2IFfLvw

It’s at 33 on iTunes and Dynamite is still at number 5. We gave you that number one for BTS to have credit and for Jawsh to have credit. Bye

In light of this controversy, ARMYs are taking time to praise BTS’s past collaborators, like Halsey, MAX, and Steve Aoki, who have set good examples for future collaborators. According to fans, these artists gave BTS proper credit, appreciated their artistry, and treated the group with respect.

"Armys are rightfully protective over BTS coz this is a band that was obviously taken advantage of in many ways ppl promising them spins, radio plays in exchange of social media power coz the fanbase knows what they can do." – halsey nailed it, jason derulo should learn from her. pic.twitter.com/sQwfS1muRd
