BTS & BLACKPINK Receive Multiple Nominations For The People’s Choice Awards

The nominations are in the for the 46th People’s Choice Awards—one of the biggest entertainment awards shows in the United States. And, while American acts unsurprisingly dominate the Music category, BTS and BLACKPINK both managed to score multiple nominations this year!
BTS’s nominations are as follows:
The Group of 2020: BTS
After a year packed with multiple hit song releases, plenty of fun content, and the world’s most-attended online concert, BTS has been nominated for “The Group of 2020” award.
BTS previously won the award for “Group of the Year” at the 44th People’s Choice Awards in 2018. They were also nominated for the award at the 2019 ceremony.
The Song of 2020: BTS – “Dynamite”
After English-language single “Dynamite” became the first and only South Korean song to reach #1 on Billboard (and stay there for a second week), it’s no surprise the track has been nominated for “The Song of 2020” award.
BTS previously won the award for “Song of the Year” with “Idol” at the 44th People’s Choice Awards in 2018.
The Album of 2020: BTS – “Map of the Soul: 7”
Less than two months ahead of BTS’s new album release, BE, Map of the Soul: 7 has received a nomination for “The Album of 2020” award. Earlier this year, the album topped the Billboard 200 chart and received acclaim for its diverse yet cohesive sound.
The Music Video of 2020: BTS – “Dynamite”
The stunning music video for Dynamite earned its “The Music Video of 2020” award nomination with its bright colors, retro styling, and boundless energy.
BTS previously won the award for “Music Video of the Year” with “Idol” at the 44th People’s Choice Awards in 2018. “Boy with Luv” was also nominated for the award at the 2019 ceremony.
Meanwhile, BLACKPINK’s nominations are as follows.
The Group of 2020: BLACKPINK
2020 has been BLACKPINK’s biggest year yet, with the group set to release their first full album (and third single of the year) tomorrow. So, it’s no wonder they record-breaking band has been nominated for “The Group of 2020” award.
BLACKPINK previously won the award for “The Group of 2019” at the 45th People’s Choice Awards.
The Music Video of 2020: BLACKPINK – “Ice Cream”
High profile collaboration “Ice Cream” with Selena Gomez also earns a nomination for “The Music Video of 2020” award. The sugary-sweet video featured a pastel color scheme, luxury styling, and signature BLACKPINK props.
BLACKPINK previously won the award for “The Music Video of 2019” with “Kill This Love” at the 45th People’s Choice Awards.
As the name suggests, the People’s Choice Awards winners are chosen by the general public. Starting from today, ARMYs and BLINKs can vote for their favorites via the PCA website or by using the correct hashtags on Twitter. Fans get up to 50 votes per day (25 per method) for each category.
Voting closes on October 23, and the winners will be announced at the 46th People’s Choice Awards ceremony on November 15.
