Teenage Korean Mom With Diabetes Is Criticized For Feeding Her Daughter Soda

The most recent episode of MBN’s Teenage Parents garnered much attention for a diabetic mom and her daughter.

This series is an observational reality show that follows teenage couples and reveals their candid lives.

In this episode, teenage mom Jung Won Bok and her ten-year-old daughter were the guests on the show. Although Jung suffered from diabetes, she continued to eat sweets and soda, neglecting her health.

Jung and her three siblings were raised in an orphanage due to her sick mother after her father passed away. She was also bullied throughout her adolescent years because of her family situation.

After leaving the orphanage, she received 3,000,000 KRW in settlement support. But because of her health issues, she was not able to get a proper job, and she was also scammed with the 1,000,000 KRW she was going to use for a house deposit.

She later dated someone who borrowed money from her, but ended up leaving her only to find out she was pregnant after he left.

In terms of living conditions, her house was also infested with cockroaches and shocked viewers and the show’s panel members. Additionally, she continued to stay unemployed for ten years and made excuses about her health issues being the reason for not working.

She was on various medication for blood circulation, hyperlipidemia, anxiety disorder, lymph glands, liver, diabetes, and more. Even with her diabetes, she continued to take her medicine with a strawberry smoothie and chocolate bread. Viewers were shocked at her drinking from a 1.5 L bottle of soda, which she also gave to her daughter.

Although the production team sent out a professional cleaning company to help with her house, she continued to obsess over things in her house despite the horrible sanitary conditions. However, after receiving a cleaning makeover, Jung’s daughter touched viewers’ hearts for her sweet message to her mother.
