SM Entertainment Has An Entertaining Trend In Naming Their Artists’ Songs
본문
Earlier today, NCT DREAM released the title track off of their new album, “Smoothie”. With its release, a Redditor on the K-Pop subreddit had the revelation that it’s just the latest of a long line of songs from SM Entertainment whose titles are the names of various drinks, and the number of them is quite impressive! It almost feels like a missed opportunity for the label to create their own line of drinks as merchandise, which might be better received than the new NCT DREAM merch.
Not only does NCT Dream have the song “Smoothie” in their discography, but they have released “Yogurt Shake” as well.
Fellow NCT unit NCT 127 has also joined the trend with their song “Lemonade”.
The group with the most drink titles seems to be Red Velvet, who have four that fans named: “Blue Lemonade”, “Iced Coffee”, “Milkshake”, and “Mojito”.
Another recent release is “Cream Soda” by EXO, which is also a title track like “Smoothie”.
“Juice” by SHINee was a popular B-side track off of their HARD album released last year.
A much older track is “MILK” by f(x), released in 2014 on their Red Light album.
And there are a number of soloists who can be included too, such as Ten with his song “Water”…
Taeyeon with “Wine”…
“Cocktail” by Jonghyun…
And “Champagne” by Yunho.
It’s possible there might be even more that could be included on the list too! But we doubt any other company has just as many drink-titled songs as SM Entertainment.
