Despite not being the group’s first win, they couldn’t help but get emotional when receiving their award. Yoseob (also known as Yang Yoseop) noticeably appeared reflective. Lights (Highlight’s fandom) pointed out that it must be sobering to still receive awards nearly 15 years after their debut. The group debuted in October 2009 and received the Rookie of the Month award from South Korea’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism in December.

After receiving their award, the members proved to be true professionals, delivering an encore performance that showcased their talents and charisma. Yoseob even showed off his strength as he sang while lifting Gikwang (also known as Lee Gi Kwang).
For most of the performance, maknae Dongwoon appeared to be having fun with his members. Yet, he started crying on stage, no longer able to hold back his tears. Despite this, he continued to sing and pose for cameras.

By the end of the song, Dongwoon was noticeably wiping tears and sniffling as his members gave their speeches. Even when he was initially offered the mic, he declined, still fighting tears.

Dongwoon attempted various methods to stop himself from crying further, such as biting his finger. So, before they left the stage, he was able to speak and express his gratitude to Lights.
