The K-Drama was much-anticipated as it it marked Park Shin Hye’s return to the small screen after giving birth to her child. The K-Drama is the actor’s first project since her 2021 effort Sisyphus: The Myth.

Doctor Slump rating | NaverAlthough these ratings are respectable, it shrinks in comparison to the ancticipation leading up to the K-Drama. One 10Asia news writer writes that the reason for K-Drama’s middling scores were the lack of chemistry between their lead actors, Park Shin Hye and Park Hyung Sik.
The biggest issue is the lack of chemistry between the main characters. It has been a while since Park Shin Hye appeared on the small screen after getting married to Choi Tae Joon… The actors’ lack of chemistry was a fatal blow to the romantic comedy, which the genre demands. The result diminished the anticipation of their 11-year reunion.

The writer didn’t blame all of the K-Drama’s ills on the actors, stating that the writing on Doctor Slump left much to be desired.
Another reason for the drama’s poor results is the writing. The script offered nothing new to the genre and there is criticisms lamenting that the beginning of the plot was too long.
