Actress Han So Hee‘s past comments about friendships between men and women have resurfaced in light of her dating controversy.
Han So HeeRecently, it was revealed that Han So Hee and Ryu Jun Yeol were together in Hawaii. Late last year, he and his girlfriend of seven years, Girl’s Day‘s Hyeri, reportedly split. So, netizens have alleged that he left Hyeri for So Hee.
Ryu Jun Yeol (left) and Hyeri (right)Han So Hee retorted to such rumors with a post on Instagram Stories that many believed to be a direct response to Hyeri, who had previously posted “how funny” (also can be interpreted as “interesting”) via her own social media. In the post, Han So Hee claimed that while she thought “transit” dating programs were “funny,” she doesn’t like men who already have a significant other. She added a meme of a dog holding a knife.
Hyeri’s post Han So Hee’s postI don’t like people who have a lover,
nor do I give them space, interest,
or establish a relationship under
the guise of friendship,
nor do I meddle in other
people’s relationships.
I like transit dating programs,
but they’re not a part of my lifeI find it funny, too.
— Han So Hee
Since Han So Hee posted this, many netizens found issue with it. Her controversial statement reminded some of her past comments when she guested on Glorious Life as a Devotee, hosted by Hong Jin Kyung, to promote Soundtrack #1 with Park Hyung Sik.

The conversation started with Hong Jin Kyung saying that men and women cannot be friends without one having feelings for the other. So Hee responded by saying that she actually has several guy friends, to which Hong said that one might like Han.
Instantly, Han So Hee rebuked this. Just imagining one of her friends having feelings for her “terrified” her.
Han So Hee then shared a personal story. She explained that sometimes, a male friend’s girlfriend did not understand their friendship due to this concern that men and women cannot be platonic friends.
By the end, the conversation was laughed off after MC Hong Jin Kyung joked that it would be “okay” if a boyfriend’s female friend were her but not Han So Hee.
Two years later, netizens are examining Han So Hee’s comments. They believe her beliefs are without boundaries and that she is not considerate of a concerned girlfriend’s feelings when she befriends someone else’s boyfriend. The tweets below garnered over 4 and 2 million views, respectively, at the time of writing, as netizens discussed Han So Hee’s past comments.
I knew she had nasty spirit since that one interview where she said “she have more boy friends than she has girl friends and the girlfriends of these boys don’t seem to understand and accept boy and girl friendships” https://t.co/liaEWta9EV

They’re grown people ofc they understand the concept it’s just they giving u a direct hint that they’re uncomfortable so take the hint and leave them instead of announcing it on national tv and shaming them for their uncomfortable feelings pic.twitter.com/DJPDyh2Ryn
