On February 12, the idol took to his YouTube channel to address rumors that he was involved in a high-profile scam. According to Choi Siwon, he has never been involved with the scammers and has never endorsed the coin.

Choi Siwon then admitted that he had attended a ceremony hosted by a youth committee that launched the cryptocurrency but maintained it was only to accept an award.

Recently, the idol was implicated in allegations surrounding a cryptocurrency that many are accusing as a scam. The coin, 청년페이, which means “Youth Pay,” is currently being suspected of being a pump-and-dump scheme in which scammers lure investors to invest in the coin before they sell the coin at high prices
