Lee Sung Kyung Debuted As An Actress Despite Having Zero Experience Because Of An Unexpected Person

Actress Lee Sung Kyung is one of the most well-known names in the industry. She debuted in 2014 in the K-Drama It’s Okay, That’s Love.

She then made it big internationally with her main role in Weightlifting Fairy (2016), going on to star in Doctor Romantic 2 (2020), Shooting Stars (2022), Doctor Romantic 3 (2023) and more.

Before she was a renowned actress, however, she was a supermodel. She explained in an interview with BTS‘s Suga how she transitioned from this to acting despite having zero experience with the latter. It turned out that she received a casting call out of the blue.

Korea’s best writer and best director [had a] new drama called It’s Okay, That’s Love. Director Kim Kyu Tae and writer Noh Hee Kyung [called me] for a meeting.
