Beomhan Gets Real About The Reality Of Being A K-Pop Trainee And Independent Artist

Popular K-Pop trainee Beomhan continues to keep fans updated on his activities following his departure from his long-term company, FM Entertainment, in September 2023.

Last year, netizens were shocked to learn that Beomhan’s contract with FM Entertainment had been terminated, as he had been an anticipated pre-debut member of project group M.O.N.T Arena.

In his first interview following the contract termination, he addressed fans’ concerns about his future plans in the industry and insinuated that his plans might take him in a different direction than K-Pop, though he confirmed that he is working on new music.

What he’s been most moved by is seeing that his fans will continue to support him, even if he’s not in K-Pop.

In a recently released TikTok, Beomhan confirmed that he’s still a K-Pop trainee and let fans in on what he’s been working on lately in a “K-Pop tea time.”

Beomhan began by stating he’s been a K-Pop idol trainee for the past three years before listing some of his many impressive accomplishments as a trainee, including releasing music, going on tour, and conducting fan events.

He then got real about what it meant to do all of those activities as a trainee instead of an idol who had already debuted. Beomhan pointed out that because he hadn’t debuted yet, he didn’t get paid for the activities.

Beomhan shared that now he’s an independent artist and funds his activities himself, including through merchandise sales.

With the money he’s saved, he’s hired a vocal teacher, taken dance classes, hired a choreographer and videographer, and is finally returning with new music on January 31.
