A post on the popular Korean online community board, Nate Pann, called attention to the excessive editing, showing side-by-side comparisons of unedited photos of Karina taken at the same events.

While netizens criticized the editing, the growing backlash worked in Karina’s favor as netizens overwhelmingly agreed that the aespa leader’s real-life, unedited visuals are even more beautiful than the controversial fansite’s “overdone” edits.

Netizens debated the purpose of over-edited fansite photos when the editing isn’t needed, with some concluding that over-editing the photos could potentially work against the artist. Luckily, that isn’t the case for Karina, as netizens feel her IRL visuals exceed expectations.
