He explained that very reason in an interview with Netflix Korea, where he and Shin Min Ah were asked, “Why did you choose Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha?”

Shin Min Ah revealed that she simply wanted to act in a rom-com again, such as her 2010 K-Drama with Lee Seung Gi, My Girlfriend Is A Gumiho.

She read the script for Hometown Cha-Cha-Cha and loved how funny it was.
I wanted to go back to romantic comedy. I came across this, and it was so funny, so I chose it.

On the other hand, Kim Seon Ho chose the drama for two reasons. For one, he was drawn to its realistic story and comfortable setting.
