Prosecution has demanded two years in prison for Ravi following his attempts to dodge the military draft during the appeal trial.
On October 31 KST, the Seoul Southern District Court conducted the appeal trial for nine individuals, including Ravi, who are suspected of violating the military service act by attempting to dodge their mandatory military service. Here, prosecution demanded a two year prison sentence for Ravi.
The attempt to intentionally avoid military service while being a public figure is a serious crime.

Ravi’s lawyer also expressed that their client admitted to his mistakes and regrets, and asked the judge to dismiss the appeal. Ravi also personally read a statement he prepared.
I worked as a singer in the public eye. Currently, I am working as a social service worker. I am spending my time every day reflecting on myself because I am so sorry. I wanted to make the people who loved me proud, so I did the best I could.
But I am ashamed in myself for participating in such a scheme and engaging in practices that are at the level of a crime.
Everyone has their own circumstances and reasons to protect them, but I made a choice that would harm others.
If you give me the chance, I will not forget my mistakes and I will work to be a better person for the rest of my life.
— Ravi
In August, prosecution initially sentenced Ravi to two years probation, with one year in prison should he violate probation. He was also ordered to complete 120 hours of community service.
