TXT’s Yeonjun Points Out The Challenge Current K-Pop Boy Groups Face

TXT‘s Yeonjun was the most recent guest on GOT7 BamBam‘s talk show Bam’s House, during which they discussed some of the differences between K-Pop’s third and fourth generations.

BamBam debuted in the third-generation K-Pop group GOT7 in 2014, and Yeonjun debuted five years later in the fourth-generation K-Pop group TXT.

BamBam shared that he felt there was a larger gap between when second and third-generation groups debuted than there was between third and fourth-generation groups, and he wanted to know how Yeonjun felt about being a fourth-generation idol.

Yeonjun honestly answered that he found it “a little difficult,” stating that he feels male K-Pop idols currently receive less attention than female K-Pop idols, which he said makes him feel “a little bit sad,” to which BamBam agreed.

The TXT member stated that he wants male K-Pop idols to “come out more and become famous,” and BamBam shared his own experiences regarding the subject.

BamBam revealed that he had felt similarly, even during GOT7’s earlier promotions, admitting the group was “really hungry for peoples’ attention.”

Yeonjun observed that “most of the music charts are all girl groups,” while clarifying that their spots on the chart are well-deserved because they have good songs.

After sharing his thoughts, he wondered why that wasn’t the case for K-Pop boy groups when they also have good songs.

Yeonjun added that it was something he felt “a bit sad about,” while BamBam pointed out the talent of K-Pop rookies, many of whom have been practicing their skills from a young age.

The two talented idols concluded by saying male idol groups work really hard and want attention from the public too, while asking viewers to please give K-Pop boy groups more attention.
