In the two completed listening parties, the BTS maknae spent over an hour chatting with fans and answering ARMYS’ questions.

Since the beginning of BTS’s “second chapter,” many have noticed more mature themes and concepts being explored by the members.
Jungkook specifically noted that he chose his solo debut single, “SEVEN,” to show a more mature side to ARMYs, expressing his excitement to deliver a “grown up” performance.

While many ARMYs are celebrating the members’ freedom of creative expression and their opportunities to try new concepts, there have been netizens who have had their concerns about the “mature” content being released by the group’s maknae, such as explicit lyrics and suggestive themes in the lyrics for “SEVEN” and “3D.”
Jungkook has coolly dismissed the criticism, confidently standing by his decision to take on new challenges, reminding people that he’s an adult now and no longer the 15-year-old who debuted in 2013.

Jungkook again addressed concerns during his first Stationhead listening party, hilariously reminding netizens that he’s not uneducated in mature subject matters.
Guys, I’m not all that innocent. I’m not a holy pure person. Like, I know what I know. I mean, I’m 26 years old, now that my birthday’s passed.

When Jungkook said this at Stationhead
: Everyone, I'm not very innocent and I'm 26 years old now! Isn't it strange to be innocent? I like alcohol, I play hard when I play and I work hard when I work.#JungKook_3D pic.twitter.com/d10J3zsXiL

He added that, as an adult, he also “likes alcohol, plays hard when [he] plays, and works hard when [he] works.”
ARMYs are praising his response to the criticism while expressing their disappointment that the BTS member has had to defend his solo projects on multiple occasions against those “policing” him.
jungkook: i’m not that innocent, everyone… i’m not, i know all the things i need to know and i’m 26 years old, isn't it strange if i’m innocent?

personally i think jungkook knows the difference between when we call him cute and baby vs those who literally treat him like an innocent child when he's not. there are certain people in this fandom he calls out for that, as he should, but yall need to stop policing him by now

im not very innocent everyone, i know everything, and im 26 years old now
YOU TELL THEM JUNGKOOK !!
— tani⁷ (@stopbeingdelulu) October 1, 2023
exactly! it's foolish of some people to think that a twenty-six-year-old-man would be entirely innocent
