A “Produce 101 Japan The Girls” Contestant Becomes A Hot Topic Among K-Netizens Because Of Her Resemblance To Chuu

In 2016, the very first season and iteration of Produce 101 aired, introducing a host of talented trainees to the public to debut a carefully curated group.

Since then, the Produce series has transformed and evolved by introducing male trainees and moving the idea to other countries. In 2018 and 2019, China and Japan introduced their versions of the show, debuting groups in each country.

It was recently announced that Japan would be airing another Produce competition, Produce 101 Japan The Girls. While the show won’t air until October, the initial introduction song video was dropped on September 1.

There are some familiar faces in the cast like former Cherry Bullet member KOKORO and Girls Planet 999 contestant Kanno Miyu.

Another contestant is currently gaining attention among K-Netizens for her resemblance to former member of LOONA Chuu!

During the theme song video, each of the trainees were given a few seconds of ending fairy time. Contestant Nana Okamura immediately stood out for her adorable look and strong resemblance to Chuu.

According to her profile, Nana Okamura was born in 2005, making her 18 years old. She was born in Hokkaido, Japan, and enjoys watching K-Pop dramas in her spare time!

Nana Okamura and Chuu both have a cheerful-looking appearance, highlighted by large eyes and a similarly shaped nose. One could almost say that Nana Okamura looks like a younger sister or cousin of the K-Pop idol!

In an online forum post, Korean netizens discussed the resemblance between the two, finding the Japanese trainee to be just as cute!
