TWICE’s Chaeyoung Shares That There’s Still A Member She Feels Awkward Around Years After Debut

K-Pop group TWICE debuted on October 20, 2015, meaning the group will be celebrating their eighth anniversary later this year. Because of their time together, it’s easy to see that their bond is very special, with the members showing off their friendship in multiple ways.

As with any group of friendships, the dynamics can vary greatly between individuals. Recently, TWICE’s Chaeyoung revealed that despite their time spent together, there is a member she still feels awkward with.

Chaeyoung was the latest guest on Jeon Somi‘s new variety program Yes Or Hot, where guests play a Q&A with a twist.

The episode was met with much anticipation as fans have wanted to see more of the dynamic between Somi and the TWICE members. Somi was one of the contestants of Sixteen, the pre-debut program that formed TWICE, before her much-contested elimination.

The pair have remained close throughout the years, with Chaeyoung being one of the many attendees of Somi’s release party.

After getting through the only mildly spicy round one, the two picked up the heat with their questions in round two. Somi jumps right in by asking if there was a member that Chaeyoung was awkward with.

She responds yes but doesn’t initially name the member.

Somi then asks her to give her the first letter of the name, and Chaeyoung refuses, saying it would reveal everything. With more prompting, Chaeyoung reveals that the member is Jihyo, saying she still talks formally with her!

Chaeyoung says it may be a habit because she is the group’s leader. Somi agrees with the sentiment, saying that it’s the same for her and that she still thinks Jihyo is cool.

It seems despite their little bit of awkwardness with Jihyo, Chaeyoung and Somi have a great amount of love and respect for her!
