“Threw It Directly At My Face”: Man Assaults People During BLACKPINK Concert
본문
A TikToker recently recounted her experience at a BLACKPINK concert after being assaulted.
JING (@jing.h on TikTok) attended BLACKPINK’s concert at Oracle Park in San Francisco as part of the group’s 2023 BORN PINK World Tour. A man harassed her, her brother, and two other girls during the show.

The man in question was seated with his friends behind JING, her brother, and another girl. Just as the concert began, JING felt her chair move forward due to the man’s pushing.

As the concert started, I sort of felt him, who was seated directly behind me, start to bump into my chair as well as slightly push it forward, which caused me to have not enough room to stand.
— JING
As a result of his pushing, she was left with little space to stand. So, she politely asked him to stop.

— JING
Although JING had tried to be as nice as she could about the uncomfortable situation, the man got upset and began cussing her out. She was shocked but attempted to brush it off to enjoy the concert.

He just started cussing me out and was telling me how basically my chair didn’t move at all, he wasn’t sure what I was saying, and … a lot of swear words were used… I was pretty shocked, but I decided that since I wanted to enjoy the concert, I didn’t wanna like start a fight or anything, so I just brushed it off and I continued watching the show.

During BLACKPINK’s show, the man and his friend left for presumably more drinks, leaving their trash in their seats. JING guessed the man’s behavior was as a result of alcohol.

I wasn’t sure at this point if it was the influence of alcohol or something else…
— JING
Near the concert’s end, JING was recording BLACKPINK on stage when suddenly her hoodie was yanked off her head. It was the same man, and he cussed her and her brother out before leaving.

It’s a screenshot from the video that I was taking. But he just pulled up his middle finger and then cussed us out further, and then left with his friend…
— JING
To their surprise, it didn’t end there, though. A few minutes later, the man and his friend returned with a water bottle. The man threw the water in her and her brother’s faces, soaking them and the girl next to them, including her stuff.

Obviously, we were not expecting that, so we were both just standing there in shock. Everyone around us was in shock, and then he just quickly grabbed his friend and left.
— JING
Initially, they were stunned by the entire encounter, so they didn’t react. Eventually, they spoke to police and security, who attempted to look for him, but JING didn’t feel hopeful.

The girl next to us also, unfortunately, had all of her like items soaked from him throwing water at us, and then it was just not a pleasant experience for everyone in that area who were surrounding him. Later on, we did try to talk to the police, we talked to security, and I think they were trying to find him, but obviously, it was a huge venue, so I don’t think they were able to find him.
— JING
They were not the only ones the man assaulted either. When JING shared the story on another social media platform, a girl in their section commented that he shoved her on his way out.
Your browser does not support video.| @jing.h/TikTokI also shared this experience on a different social media platform, and there was a girl who was also sitting in our section who actually commented saying that as he was like getting sort of carried out by his two friends like he kind of like shoved her as well while he was just like on his way out.
— JING
JING believes that the man was intoxicated, considering his unbelievable behavior. So, she warned everyone to be cautious at concerts because you don’t know what others might do.
Your browser does not support video.| @jing.h/TikTokSo ultimately, I think his behaviors were probably a result of him being extremely drunk. But I don’t think that makes any part of it okay. So, the point, I guess, as to why I decided to share this video … I never in a million years would have expected something like that to happen to me, especially at a K-Pop concert where I feel like most of my experiences with other fans have been positive like everyone has always been so nice. So, this was just a really shocking experience to me, but I guess the moral of the story is just to try to be safe, everyone. You know know what other people might do.
