The Most Extreme Measures Idols Took To Keep Their Love Lives Private

In the various idol industries, dating among stars has not been wholly accepted, with stars found to be in relationships facing backlash from fans. Because of this, idols will usually keep their relationships secret, sometimes going to what could be considered “extreme” measures to avoid being found out.

Here are some ways idols have tried to prevent their love lives from being found out.

1. Wearing A Wig

Netizens were amused when Japanese idol Daigo Nishihata‘s method of hiding after spending a night with his alleged girlfriend was found out. Photos shared by Shūkan Bunshun, which is comparable to Korea’s Dispatch, showed the star wearing a blond bob wig leaving her apartment.

2. Buying Separate Phones

While talking about their idol lives, Tina (former Blady member), Eddy (JJCC member), and Alex (former High4 member spilled on how idols would exchange numbers while promoting.

They also shared that many idols would even buy a second phone or device without their management’s knowledge to get around imposed dating or cell phone bans!

3. Traveling Far Distances

In 2021, American YouTuber and co-founder of Smosh, Anthony Padilla, released a video with several former and now solo K-Pop idols, including Tina. Dating at night is a concept fans were already familiar with when it came to idol dating, but Tina revealed they would also go as far as traveling outside Seoul to avoid detection.

4. Hiding In A Suitcase

While former A-JAX member Dowoo is now married to his wife, their relationship was not always smooth sailing. The couple once recounted a time they had to get creative to hide their relationship while dating.

According to the couple, to hide when she went to hotel rooms while he was with the group, Dowoo had her climb inside a suitcase! Dowoo even shared that they were lucky they didn’t get caught because her hair was stuck in the zipper!
