The SM Entertainment Choreographer That Is “Hit Or Miss” Among Fans

K-Pop artists under SM Entertainment may generally be best known for their phenomenal vocals more than anything else, but that doesn’t mean they’re slacking in other areas of the business. They have plenty of incredible dancers too, and some of the most memorable and eye-catching choreographies in the industry!

There’s one choreographer in particular that has worked with several SM artists who is a bit of a controversial figure for his work: Tony Testa.
Tony Testa (center) with EXO | @tonytestaofficial/Intagram Tony has been the creative mind behind many of the label’s most legendary choreographies, and is known for his unique style that breaks conventional dance rules and often includes fantastic and sometimes risky maneuvers within the performance.
You’re probably familiar with a lot of his work. He has created several of SHINee‘s most well-known choreographies, including “Sherlock”…
“Everybody”…
“Dream Girl”…
And “Married to the Music”.
They’re not the only second-generation boy group under SM that he’s worked with. He has also choreographed a number of Super Junior‘s songs, such as “MAMACITA”…
“Devil”…
“SUPER Clap”…
And “Burn the Floor”.
EXO has also had some dances created by him, such as their iconic “Wolf” choreography…
As well as “Overdose”. Both dances included some really interesting member formations that ended up looking incredible!
He has done a couple of TVXQ‘s choreographies as well, including “Catch Me”…
and “Something”.
He doesn’t just stick to boy groups, either — he was also the creator of Girls’ Generation‘s dance for “Lion Heart”.
More recently, he has worked with a couple of NCT‘s subunits, including NCT 127. Not only did he create the dance for “Fire Truck”…
But he also choreographed “Cherry Bomb”, which, while amazing, received mixed reactions from fans because of how it aggravated Taeyong‘s back injury.
Finally, he also choreographed the NCT DREAM song “My First and Last”, another dance known for its unique moves and unconventional formations.
His work was recently the topic of conversation online, with some fans calling his dances “hit or miss” due to how interesting and unique they are, but also how hard they can be on idols’ bodies. Here’s what netizens had to say about them.
