BTS’s RM Is Still Shook By Their Hairstylist’s Most Difficult Job

Master hairstylist Park Nae Joo has many famous clients, which includes HYBE‘s well-known boy group BTS. They’ve worked together for nearly ten years and shared one unique experience they still can’t forget.
During an interview with Yonhap News, the media outlet asked Park Nae Joo for his most memorable experience working with the group. He immediately thought of one from BTS’s early days that still makes its way into their current conversations, “I always talk about this with the members too.”

Although Park Nae Joo currently owns Bit&Boot, he didn’t have a salon or office when he first worked with BTS. As a result, he had to take his “hair dyes and scissors” to the group’s practice room to style their hair. However, it didn’t go as smoothly as planned.

Because they were in the middle of a “cold wave alert” and were in the basement, there was no hot water to rinse BTS’s hair after dyeing and bleaching it. So Park Nae Joo and his staff had to take matters into their own hands.
I dyed and cut the members’ hair at the practice room, and I also showed them demonstrations for different hairstyles. And on that day, when it was freezing cold, we couldn’t even get warm water from the bathroom.

Shocking the interviewer, Park Nae Joo shared how they heated the freezing cold water just to properly clean BTS’s hair. Revealing the time-consuming method, he said, “So we boiled water with an electric kettle to wash the members’ dyed hair.”

Park Nae Joo admitted that he and BTS still talk about how difficult the situation had been for them, especially since RM’s hair had to be bleached eight times under those rough conditions.
We still talk about that day a lot. Especially with RM because he bleached his hair five or six times and had to wash his hair with freezing cold water. He still says, ‘How did I endure that?’
