Who Is The Reigning King Of K-Pop? Male Idols’ Best Songs Of 2023 So Far, Ranked  

K-Pop’s boy groups and male soloists have released many smash hits this year, but only the best of the best songs soared to the top of the music charts. From January to mid-July, a handful of hits won at least once on the music programs Inkigayo, M Countdown, or Music Bank. Which of these top songs is the best of the best? You voted. These are the results!

18. THE BOYZ – “Roar”

“Roar” came in 18th with 0% of the votes (13 votes), but there’s no denying that this song deserved its music show wins! It’s powerful, catchy, and one of the best tracks of 2023. 

17. NCT 127 – “Ay-Yo”

Six songs scored 1% of the votes, and the first is “Ay-Yo.” If you haven’t seen the music video yet, prepare yourself. If you’re not stanning NCT 127 yet, you might be soon!

16. BIGBANG’s Taeyang (feat. BTS’s Jimin) – “Vibe”

With only a one-vote lead, “Vibe” takes the 16th spot with 1% of the votes. This highly anticipated collaboration between 2nd and 3rd-generation idols features BTS’s Jimin. It’s the best of both worlds!

15. MONSTA X – “Beautiful Liar”

The third song on our list with 1% of the votes is “Beautiful Liar.” From its electric guitar riffs and rockstar swagger, it’s easy to see (hear?) why fans love this track.

14. ATEEZ – “Halazia”

“Halazia” is coming in at 14th place with just a one-vote lead over “Beautiful Liar,” taking 1% of the total votes. (Spoiler alert: This isn’t the only ATEEZ song that voters fell in love with!)

13. SEVENTEEN’s BSS – “Fighting”

Next up is “Fighting,” taking 13th place and 1% of the votes. This fun, upbeat track can make anyone get up and dance!

12. TXT – “Sugar Rush Ride”

Looking for the perfect song for a summer road trip? Here it is. TXT’s track is sugary sweet with a dash of spice, taking 1% of the votes.

11. BTS’s J-Hope – “On the Street”

Coming in at 11th with a one-vote lead over “Sugar Rush Ride” is J-Hope’s solo track, “On the Street.” This track takes listeners back in time to J-Hope’s underground rapper roots, and it’s one of five songs to score 2% of the votes.

10. NCT DoJaeJung – “Perfume”

With an 8-vote lead over “On the Street,” “Perfume” takes 10th place and 2% of the votes. (Warning: This video contains blindingly bright visuals. Watch at your own risk!)

9. SHINee – “Hard”

SHINee’s back, but really, did they ever leave? 15 years later, they’re going strong. “Hard” takes 9th place with a one-vote lead over “Perfume.”

8. ENHYPEN – “Bite Me”

Do you like vampires? Do you like spicy lyrics and choreography? If so, this catchy hit single is for you. “Bite Me” takes 8th place with a two-vote lead over “Hard.”

7. BTS’s Jimin – “Set Me Free Pt. 2”

Seven is a special number to ARMY, so maybe it’s fate that Jimin’s solo track took the 7th spot on this list. “Set Me Free” took 2% of the total vote.

6. ATEEZ – “Bouncy (K-Hot Chilli Peppers)”

There’s no word of a lie in this title. ATEEZ’s hit summer song is bouncy, hot, and so much more! It takes 6th place with 4% of the votes.

5. Stray Kids – “S-Class”

With a 3-vote lead, “S-Class” takes 4% of the votes. It’s powerful, addictive, and an absolute pleasure to listen to. Have you joined the dance challenge yet?

4. SEVENTEEN – “Super”

“Super” takes 4th place with 4% of the votes and an 86-vote lead over “S-Class.” This sizzling-hot song is super addictive and worth a replay — or ten.

3. BTS’s Jimin – “Like Crazy”

ARMYs went crazy for “Like Crazy,” and that’s totally understandable. With a 34-vote lead, “Like Crazy” takes 3rd place and 7% of the votes.

2. BTS – “Take Two”

Now that BTS’s members are releasing solo tracks, BTS vs BTS competitions are inevitable. “Take Two” had a 37-vote lead over “Like Crazy” and snagged 8% of the votes.

1. EXO’s Kai – “Rover”

According to thousands of voters, Kai’s “Rover” is the best song by a male artist in 2023 so far! With a whopping 1,905-vote lead and 57% of the votes, “Rover” takes first place!
