BLACKPINK is one of the biggest K-Pop groups ever, and for a good reason. The girls are not only incredibly talented individuals but kind and caring. Their music continually empowers BLINKs as well, particularly those in the LGBTQIA+ community, which the members themselves have been openly supportive of. Like MONSTA X, they have been approved as allies to the LGBTQIA+ community and, as a result, have had their music played at pride events.
Despite the criticism that they may face and the stigma surrounding the topic in South Korea, BLACKPINK continues to be the people we all know and love by giving love back to the community. Here are 20 times when BLACKPINK proved themselves to be LGBTQIA+ allies…
1. When BLACKPINK changed their lights to rainbow during pride month at their Australia concert in 2019

Rosé wore the limited-edition rainbow-coated version of the Archive Logo Sweatpants from Burberry, costing $650 USD. Upon release of the rainbow collection, Burberry also donated to made donations to organizations devoted to LGBTQ+ rights, such as The Trevor Project, The Albert Kennedy Trust, and the ILGA.

When Rosé was on King of Masked Singer, she sang “Livin’ la Vida Loca” by gay singer Ricky Martin. Originally released before he had come out, the lyrics are directed towards a woman. When Rosé sang the song, she kept the original female pronouns.
