ONCE Slam “Xenophobic” Author For His “Biased And Unnecessarily Hateful” Review Of TWICE’s Concert

TWICE fans (known as ONCE) are criticizing a local author after the release of his concert review.
TWICE | @JYPETWICE/TwitterTWICE are currently on their 5th world tour, Ready To Be, and have been entertaining ONCEs across the United States.
| JYP EntertainmentFans were excited for the group’s concert at MetLife Stadium, the home field of the New York Giants and New York Jets. TWICE made history with their performance, becoming the first girl group to sell out the massive venue.
Unfortunately, the momentous occasion has been marred by two issues that have upset fans.
First, MetLife Stadium’s official Twitter account had to apologize for liking what many perceived as a hate tweet that unnecessarily compared the group to another.
ONCE, we hear you! Apologies for inadvertently liking that comment. It wasn't intentional and we removed the like.
We all our acts & are so proud of TWICE being the first female K-Pop group to headline MetLife Stadium Last night's show was one for the record books

Fans are also outraged by the review that was shared by a local site, NJ.com. The review, by Bobby Oliver, recalled the first time the group visited New Jersey, calling them a “big, fluffy flop.”
The first time TWICE visited New Jersey, in Newark for one of their first U.S. arena showcases in 2019, the nine-piece K-pop sensation was a big, fluffy flop. Suspect vocals, loose choreography and a general lack of showmanship suggested South Korea’s best-selling girl group may not have been ready for real-world primetime, removed from their perfectly manicured music videos.

After bringing up how the group was formed, it seemed like this review took a more positive note than the previous one. The author then seemed to pick at how the group called the audience “New York” and how they talked about how hot it was.

The review ended with an unnecessary comparison to another group as he praised TWICE’s groundbreaking achievements.
“Though some of TWICE’s fellow girl groups, especially BLACKPINK, offer more fury and flare, TWICE has helped to build a standard for how K-pop can contend in U.S. markets. They are clearly thriving, and considering their tireless work ethic, they will surely be back in East Rutherford sooner than later.”

Fans felt this article was demeaning more than it was critical, and did not give an accurate summary of the night. ONCE were more angered after discovering the author previously made xenophobic statements about the group in another article.
read your article (thanks to archive) and honestly whatever school gave you a journalism degree needs to lose it's accreditation and whoever hired you as a writer for this company needs to be fired. You're clearly biased, unprofessional and you need to be fired too @BobbyOlivier https://t.co/dwxs1ByMnC pic.twitter.com/uImfVfQNTa

lots of bullshit here but it wasn’t 80 degrees, it was 90 AFTER the sun set and hotter before. two people passed out at the venue that I saw (paramedics were with them). twice just encouraged us to hydrate and take care of ourselves lol. https://t.co/fIqzEQfNHA pic.twitter.com/hyK8TGQlMv
