On June 27, Doctor Cha actors Uhm Jung Hwa, Kim Byung Chul, Myung Se Bin, and Min Woo Hyuk made an appearance on the variety show, JjanDangPo (romanized from 짠당포).

On this day, Uhm Jung Hwa spoke about Kim Byung Chul’s personality in real life, stating, “Byung Chul is stoic in real life.” Kim Byung Chul then revealed that although Uhm Jung Hwa is older in real life, the actors, who appeared in the drama as a married couple, decided to drop honorifics in order to become closer.

Because we had to act out a married couple who had been married for a long time, we stopped using honorifics to become closer.

Uhm Jung Hwa then playfully said, “Since the drama is over, use honorifics.” Kim Byung Chul teased back, “Im relieved. Dropping honorifics burdened me.”

The actors then spoke about Kim Byung Chul’s looks. Kim Byung Chul revealed that previously, he was hurt after seeing comments saying he was ugly, but while shooting Doctor Cha, he was pleasantly surprised to see that there were many comments saying he was good-looking. Uhm Jung Hwa then stated that she, too, realized the actor’s charms while shooting the drama.

The show’s host then asked Kim Byung Chul, “While filming, I heard that you said you liked Uhm Jung Hwa,” to which the actor asked, “Where did you hear that?” To which Uhm Jung Hwa asked, “Are we dating then?”

Meanwhile, Uhm Jung Hwa and Kim Byung Chul successfully wrapped up Doctor Cha. The drama, which tells the story of a housewife who returns to her medical years after 20 years, has become one of the biggest dramas in 2023.
