K-Netizens Have Strong Feelings About Ex-Super Junior Kangin’s Latest Content

In 2019, former Super Junior member Kangin announced he would leave the group through an Instagram post.

While his departure was voluntary, it came following multiple controversies. In 2017, he was accused of assaulting his girlfriend at a bar, and he faced charges for two different drunk driving instances, hit-and-runs in 2009 and 2016.

After a surprise live stream a year after his departure and sporadic posts, Kangin was most recently photographed attending SE7EN and Lee Da Hee‘s wedding in May 2023, one of the many celebrities that attended the star-studded event.

Recently, Kangin appeared on the YouTube channel Someone Else’s Life, which documents day-in-the-life content on various subjects.

Kangin’s episode, titled Kangin, 7 Years of Hiatus / What’s Life Like As Kim Young Woon, shows him going on an outdoor trip, even discussing his past in one portion of the video.

The half an hour long video has just under 100 thousand views and 1,300 comments, many of which are fans that shared their excitement over seeing Kangin after so long.

Many netizens felt completely different, with some believing this might be an attempt for him to make his way back into the industry. Others shared harsh feelings about his reappearance.

• Don’t you dare think about coming back to the industry. Just keep living that low-key life.
• Some of these people are truly shameless. Like, is it because they’re so used to being in front of the public? Or is it because they think they’re so above and beyond the public? They seem to have zero shame. I don’t get it. Why do they feel the need to crawl back into the spotlight? After everything? Wouldn’t it be easier to live on as a non-celeb?
