BLACKPINK Jennie’s Humble Statement Leaves “The Idol” Co-Star Troye Sivan Dumbfounded

BLACKPINK‘s Jennie has been gaining attention for her first acting role in HBO‘s The Idol, which premiered earlier this month.

The Idol received a lot of criticism—from its overtly sexual choreography to its cringy script. Many expressed their dislike and disgust for the show, while others watched it out of curiosity or to support Jennie.

Although the show is not loved by everyone, there is no denying that the cast list of The Idol is star-studded. In addition to Jennie, the cast consists of actress Lily-Rose Depp, singer and show creator The Weeknd, and singer Troye Sivan.

Lily-Rose Depp once shared that the cast had a great relationship while filming and praised Jennie for her talent, especially in picking up choreography. She also talked about Jennie’s sweetness and humility.

And she’s so sweet. And for somebody who lives the kind of life that she lives, she is so humble and kind and a real girl’s girl. I love her.

Troye Sivan also shared his experience working with Jennie on set. He talked about meeting her for the first time and being dumbfounded at how she casually dropped the fact that she is “in a band.”

I’ll never forget the first day I met her. We were just like, kind of talking casually, and she had just flown in from somewhere. I was like, ‘Oh, is it for work?’ and she was like, ‘Yeah, well I’m in a band.’ I was like, ‘Are you serious? Like, I know you’re in a band. The entire world knows you’re in a band.’ She’s so humble and so sweet. I mean, I love Jennie so so so much.

Based on Troye Sivan’s past tweets and shout-outs to BTS and his recent fan-edit TikTok of Stray Kids‘ Hyunjin, Troye Sivan knows his K-Pop and definitely knew BLACKPINK. Jennie’s humble way of saying she’s a global superstar left the singer speechless.
