BLACKPINK’s Jisoo Has Strong Feelings On Whether Women And Men Can Be Just Friends — But Here’s Why WINNER’s Jinu Is An Exception

One of the most controversial topics in K-Pop is dating, yet idols always enjoy getting involved in the debate on whether people of opposite genders can be friends.

Two YG Entertainment stars who recently made headlines with a special collaboration video on the topic are BLACKPINK‘s Jisoo and WINNER‘s Jinu.

Known as YG’s power visuals, the duo has had some unreal interactions over the years, showcasing the friendship between the two groups.

Jisoo made her hotly anticipated appearance in a video with Jinu on the DingUniv YouTube channel. As expected, the two YG Entertainment idols already had great chemistry together as there seemingly was less shyness from the usually introverted Jisoo.

Of course, considering how long the two idols have known each other, it wasn’t surprising that Jisoo couldn’t help but tease her senior artist about his hosting skills. It cements how close Jisoo and Jinu are that they can tease each other like siblings.

Most of the topics in the video were “heated” discussions about the issue of whether boys and girls can be just friends! While it seems a simple question in Western countries, it has always been a debate in Asian countries and something idols discuss a lot.

Before getting into the big questions, Jisoo was asked about her friendship with Jinu, and she explained that they’d known each other for over ten years.

After such warm words, it shocked Jinu’s co-hosts when Jisoo affirmatively believed that people of the opposite gender couldn’t be friends.

With that theory in mind, it was even more confusing when Jisoo once again referred to Jinu as her male friend.

Luckily, Jisoo was ready with an answer and a loophole for Jinu and probably other members of WINNER, and it was that she had known her fellow YG artist for over ten years!

In particular, Jisoo had other criteria to share how you know if someone is a friend or something more, and it was all based on the connection and way they interact.

If you occasionally ask how you’re doing
and keep in touch sometimes and if you don’t find that offensive and get along, then it really feels like friends. But if you’re always talking to each other or calling each other, I find that… kind of hard to understand.

Jinu seemed to be more on the fence than Jisoo. While Jisoo had a time limit and her own standards, for the veteran idol, he similarly thought it all depended on the attitude between the friends to determine the type of relationship.
