BTS’s Suga Proves His Professionalism In The Face Of A Fire On Stage During His Singapore Show

One of the most challenging parts of being a live performer is developing the ability to handle any unforeseen situation on stage that nobody could prepare you for. And for the most part, you have to be discreet while dealing with those issues not to break the audience’s immersion in the experience. It won’t be unfair to say that the BTS members have mastered this art quite exceptionally over the past decade.

the group knows how to keep the show going while simultaneously taking care of such accidents.
BTS’s Suga reflected that same professionalism in his most recent concert. Suga wrapped up the Asian leg of his solo tour on June 18, delivering a flawless set at the last stop, Singapore.
Suga in Singapore on Day 2 of his solo concert | @AlexisWithLuv/TwitterThe stage set-up for the shows on this AGUST D | SUGA tour is heavily reliant on pyrotechnics or the use of fire. It plays an undeniable role in creating the environment that Suga is trying to build with most of his hardcore songs on the setlist. But a mishap occurred on the stage during the Singapore Day 2 show.
The use of fire is one of the key parts of Suga’s stage setup | @agustd/InstagramIn these shows, Suga usually goes up to the audience while performing “D-DAY” and interacts with them closely. He also routinely picks out one phone from the crowd and records himself while singing the song. Naturally, it is an adrenaline-filled moment for the people in the pit as they anticipate seeing the rapper so up close.

During the Singapore show, too, Suga did this segment. This time, however, he seemed to take his sweet time going back on stage. Instead, he lingered on the stairs but kept singing the song like nothing had happened. But from the fan-taken videos, ARMYs realized that while Suga was standing at the stairs, a piece of equipment had caught on fire on stage. A staff member was also spotted running up with a fire extinguisher to control the flames.

ARMY couldn’t help praising the rapper’s professionalism in keeping the audience engaged despite such a dangerous accident. This incident is also reminiscent of an old BTS concert at Rose Bowl stadium, where all the members showcased similar stage expertise.

At least in the US where I saw the show, they had many large fire extinguishers at multiple locations around the set. The crew was very quick to put out the literal fires. They did a great job keeping things safe, especially considering how many fires there are and how big!
