She Was Once A God-Tier Star In South Korea… Where Is AOA’s Seolhyun Now?

AOA’s Seolhyun was once on every billboard in South Korea. She blew up when the group gained popularity with the song “Heart Attack.”

Much focus was placed on her body, as she had lost a lot of weight between comebacks. Her life-sized cutout soon became the talk of town. This pose was known as the “Seolhyun pose” back then. There were even rumors that her cutouts were being stolen from stores.

She was modeling for every brand. From Gmarket…

…to telecoms…

…and of course, various clothing brands.

She also tried her hand at acting, posing as a young vampire in Orange Marmalade.

The group then lost a member, Choa, who left her position as the leader. AOA came back more successful than ever with the song “Bingle Bangle,” where Seolhyun gained attention once more for her insane physique.

In 2019, amidst her high popularity, she was cast in My Country: The New Age. She starred as Han Hee Jae, the valiant activist.

In 2019, AOA also rose once more in popularity through Queendom. Despite their successful run, the group hit an obstacle when former member Mina, began accusing the group of outcasting her. This led to the public turning against the group.

She left FNC Entertainment in 2021 when her contract expired. After around two years of laying low, Seolhyun returned to the public eye through the drama, The Killer’s Shopping List.

Finally, she hit her stride once more with Summer Strike in  2022, opposite Im Siwan. The relationship between the two leads played a huge part in turning the drama into a creeper hit. Although there was little to no skinship in the show, their calming, green flag relationship healed viewers.

What has the star been up to recently? After her success with Summer Strike in 2022, while there has been no news of upcoming works from Seolhyun, she’s just been living her best life!
