ENHYPEN’s Jungwon Gushes Over BTS And SEVENTEEN Because Of One Reason

ENHYPEN‘s Jungwon opened up about a variety of topics in an interview with Weverse Magazine. One of them was how he looks up to his seniors, BTS and SEVENTEEN.

He gushed over the two groups, saying he loves them because of their top-tier performances which they do consistently. No matter how many years have passed since their debut, they always deliver.

I think seeing other artists has had a lot of influence on me when it comes to always trying to work hard. If you look at BTS and SEVENTEEN, they’ve been around for a long time now but they put on a fantastic performance every single time without fail.

Jungwon has made it a point to strive for greatness just like BTS and SEVENTEEN ever since pre-debut. He shared, “I’ve felt like that’s the kind of artist I should be, ever since I was a trainee.”

Jumping off his desire to be just like his seniors, he added that he never wants to lose the conviction to do great that he had ever since his trainee days. Just like them, he hopes to keep impressing his fans.

The last thing I want to hear is that I’ve changed. I am not fully satisfied with myself but I try not to forget where I first started. But when you veer off course after displaying such attitude, you will let people down even more. That’s why I don’t want to disappoint them, and I don’t want to lower their expectations. I derive satisfaction from continuously raising my own standards, rising up to them and achieving my goals.

As an artist who is around three years into his career, he now hopes to be a guiding light to other aspiring singers just like his seniors were to him.

Just like how I nurtured my dreams watching BTS perform, I wish someone would do the same watching us.

As a special treat for Jungwon, he even got to meet his idols in real life. As they are all under the company HYBE, they have had some opportunities to collaborate such as his “HOT” challenge with SEVENTEEN’s Seungkwan and Jeonghan.
