BTS‘s Jin is known for his bright and cheerful personality, but he has also made a lot of sad confessions this year. Here’s a list of 4 confessions made by Jin this year that will break your heart.

1. Jin speaking on losing friends due to his fame

BTS has achieved worldwide fame, but Jin revealed that this can have drawbacks. In an episode of Break The Silence, Jin shared that a lot of his friends found it difficult to be around him due to his fame.

There’s a lot of pressure to meet up with people. I haven’t changed, but my friends find it difficult to be around me.

2. Jin speaking on feeling “unworthy” of BTS’s success

Jin recently released his song “Abyss” along with a letter that revealed the meaning of the song and the thought process behind it. In the letter, he revealed some heartbreaking things, such as saying that he felt “unworthy” of BTS’s success.

Honestly speaking, I experienced a huge burnout and it was during that time that I got an opportunity to think about myself. After ranking #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, we received endless amounts of congratulations but I thought to myself if I was worthy to receive the praise…

Jin was then encouraged to put these feelings into a song, which is how “Abyss” got created.

As I looked deeper, I realized I wanted to let it all go because I was having a hard time. I received counseling for these feelings and just spent my days as normal. However, after speaking to Bang PD about it, he asked me how I felt about writing about my feelings into a song.

3. Jin speaking about his fears

In Break The Silence, Jin revealed that he sometimes worries that he will mess up during a performance and that this is hard to shake off.

You know, since I haven’t done this in a while, I did worry a bit. Like, ‘What if I mess up the dance?’ and ‘What if I forget the lyrics?’ So in my room, I looked over the words and ran through the movements one more time. But still, it’s hard to shake off the anxiety.

4. Jin revealing that he initially didn’t receive a lot of birthday messages

This one starts as a sad story but concludes as a heartwarming one. Jin recently held a live broadcast in celebration of his birthday, and during it, he revealed that he stayed up until 1 AM on his birthday just in case he received some early birthday messages. However, Jin initially didn’t receive as many birthday messages as he thought, which made him sad.

When Jin woke up, he had received over 10 birthday messages, and some of these were thanks to V. It turns out that after V learned that Jin was upset that he didn’t receive a lot of birthdays messages, he contacted his friends and asked them to wish him a happy birthday. Jin ended up receiving around 7 or 8 birthday messages from V’s friends.
