Busan Witnessing The “BTS Effect” As The City Prepares To Welcome ARMYs

Preparations are in full gear in the city of Busan as the day of BTS‘s “Yet To Come in Busan” show draws closer. The septet will take the stage on October 15 at the Busan Asiad Main Stadium to promote the city’s bid for hosting the World Expo 2030. The concert is expected to witness a footfall of 100,000 people, with additional audiences at the two live play locations. Since so many people will visit Busan driven by the star power of BTS, large-scale steps have been taken by companies and the government alike to ensure a successful event.
Air Busan has added 12 non-regular flights to accommodate travelers coming to the city for the concert, and all tickets are already sold out. The airline also reported that their regular international flights to Busan are seeing an influx of travelers. Also, two extra domestic flights per week between Incheon International Airport and Gimhae International Airport have been added to carry in the concert-goers.
The Busan City Government is following temporary transportation plans to make sure people can access the venue without any hassle. On the day of the concert, two additional KTX trains will be operating between Seoul and Busan, along with an extra SRT train. Busan Gimhae Light Rail Transit will add 24 extra trains and decrease the gap between trains from 6-8 minutes to 4-6 minutes.
Apart from rerouting Airport bus 307 to stop at the concert location, six more buses will be assigned on the concert day. The Busan city public metro system will also add 50 trains across all its lines. Keeping the live play locations in mind, public transport will be made more frequent to help people reach the North Port of Busan and Haeundae Beach easily.
Though roads within 300 meters of the concert venue will be blocked off, the city is building a parking lot nearby that can accommodate 5,000 cars and 300 buses.
Apart from transportation, the city is also decking up in purple to welcome ARMYs and BTS. HYBE has already kicked off “The City” project festival at Busan to celebrate BTS’s show. Lotte World Adventure Busan theme park is set to go fully BTS-themed and host a “Purple Lights Up” event from October 14-October 31 to celebrate the event. Fireworks, multimedia shows, and purple-themed food and beverages will be served at the park during this time as well.
Busan’s Gwangan Bridge is already lit up with purple lights and BTS’s name. There are also preparations ongoing for a purple drone show above the bridge. The drones will be choreographed on BTS’s songs and portray the seven members.

Rest assured, only one act in the world could carry so much impact at all levels through just a concert, and that is BTS.
