HYBE Set To Launch Digital Collectibles Platform Within October Amid Fan Opposition

HYBE and virtual asset company Dunamu are set to launch MOMENTICA, a digital collectibles platform, through their joint venture Levvels, by the end of October, despite opposition voiced out by fans.

With MOMENTICA, users can buy and sell their digital cards of HYBE’s artists and store them safely through the Levvels Blockchain, powered by the low-carbon-emission blockchain Luniverse, developed by Dunamu’s blockchain research subsidiary Lambda 256.

Users will also enjoy unreleased photos, voices, and visual content by collecting MOMENTICA digital cards. These digital cards can also be traded with other users on the platform. Levvels Chief Operating Officer Jang Sung Chan explains further.

MOMENTICA will develop into a digital playground platform where fans and artists can communicate in a whole new way. The platform will also diversify fandom experiences by introducing a series of entertainment factors ― such as a photo card collection and decorations. MOMENTICA‘s pre-registration event promotion starts on October 5. Fans of SEVENTEEN, fromis_9, TXT, ENHYPEN, and LE SSERAFIM can get the very first digital collectibles from these groups for free. The official launch of the service will take place in mid-October.

The launch of MOMENTICA will occur despite fan opposition to these digital collectibles, which will allegedly replace physical collectibles like music CDs, content DVDs, and printed photos, as a measure to protect the environment. COO Jang also considers the move the right path for tech-savvy K-Pop fans.
