Huddy (also known as Chase Hudson) finally addressed his Weverse controversy.
The American musician and social media personality is best known for co-founding the TikTok collective the Hype House and popularizing the e-boy fashion style and subculture across the video-sharing app.
HYBE‘s application Weverse began as a K-Pop social media platform that connects fans and artists. It hosts many of the hottest K-Pop groups of today, such as BTS, BLACKPINK, SEVENTEEN, TXT, etc. (just to name a few).
Today, it has expanded beyond to include even Western artists, such as American singer-songwriter MAX, British pop trio New Hope Club, American singer-songwriter Jeremy Zucker, American-Canadian pop and R&B boy band based PRETTYMUCH, American singer-songwriter Gracie Abrams, American record producer and singer-songwriter Alexander 23.
However, its first Western artist did not receive a warm welcome.

Still, Huddy was added to Weverse as an artist.
He even uploaded both a welcome video and post, promising to engage on the app.
Yet, when netizens created accounts and joined his artist page just to criticize and cyberbully him, Huddy never returned.
Now, a year later, Huddy addressed it all.
Recently, Huddy guested on the Zach Sang Show. Since both Zach Sang and he are self-proclaimed K-Pop fans, especially of BTS, they connected.

While the two talked about everything from BTS concerts, favorite songs, and their biases, Huddy confessed that while he is ARMY, he tends to be more private about it now although he used to post more.

Zach Sang recognized why Huddy might not be so outspoken anymore. So, he asked him if it was related to Weverse.

Huddy briefly explained that he was met with backlash when he joined the platform. Zach Sang wasn’t sure why, though.

Zach Sang: Why though?
Zach Sang asked if he could assist in resolving any conflict. However, Huddy denied that there was any “beef.”

Zach Sang disagreed. He told Huddy that he had been cyberbullied off the app.

Weverse was already a very new platform for him. Considering that, Huddy was concerned even more that he could make a mistake.
It was also like very foreign to me. So, I didn’t want to like try anything out, mess anything up, you know.

Ultimately, Huddy just wanted to keep the peace. So, out of respect for the other fandoms on the app, he didn’t return.
